Floorwork Core & Shoulder Strength Training

Core and shoulder strength training is important for dancers because it helps with balance, coordination, and stability during dynamic movements. 

Core exercises

  • While working through these excercises be sure to not allow your neck or hip flexors take over for your core.  

  • Before to take breaks if necessary to make sure your are doing these exercises with proper form and alignment.

Shoulder exercises

  • The use of body weight to strength upper body is super helpful for dance especially when trying to incorporate floor work in your Burlesque Choreography

  • Doing these exercises in a mirror if very helpful for alignment, but if you don’t have a mirror don’t be scared to record yourself so you can see your progress and check your form.
